It seems that the green card was only a beautiful beginning to Franco-American relations!
French President Nicolas Sarkozy is in the United States tonight. (Did he know Guillaume just got his green card?) Earlier today, in Washington DC, he presented several World War II veterans (including a man from a Boston suburb), with the Legion of Honor, France's highest award.

This gave a reminder of our trip to Normandy last November, where we were overwhelmed with the sacrifices of so many during World War II.
